The project will develop an effective pathway for joining regolith tiles into landing/launching pads on the lunar or Martian surface. The proposed project will generate data on the optimal compositions and amounts of exothermic mixtures that could be used for combustion joining of the regolith tiles. The experimental results will be validated by modeling of t he combustion wave propagation over the mixture placed in the gap between the two regolith tiles.
