Assistant Professor, Clinical Laboratory Sciences

Dr. Moore joined the Clinical Laboratory Science program in the College of Health Sciences in 2013. He worked as a transplant technologist with the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where he earned his Histocompatibility Technologist certification. Receiving his PhD in Experimental Pathology in 2006 from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, his work focused on HLA-restricted epitope mapping in autoimmunity. As a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Endocrinology and Diabetes at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and a Research Assistant Member (Professor) in the Arthritis and Clinical Immunology Program at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation in Oklahoma City, OK, he has obtained grant funding and published manuscripts and book chapters regarding T and B cell pathogenesis in Sjogren’s syndrome and systemic lupus erythematosus. He has presented his work at many national and international meetings and has been involved with the Oklahoma Sjogren’s Syndrome Center for Research Translation (OSSCORT), a premier center in the study of Sjogren’s syndrome. His primary research interests include the role of Heme Oxygenase-1 in the pathogenesis of renal nephritis in autoimmunity and the pathogenesis of McLeod syndrome induced by the Kell red blood cell antigen system.
