Joanne Kropp
Lecturer, University Studies/Entering Student Program

I am a Senior Lecturer in the Entering Student Program and have been teaching courses in UNIV 1301, History, and Women's Studies since 2001. I am also ABD in the Ph.D. Program in Borderlands History at UTEP in fall 2001 and have maintained a 4.0 G.P.A. while working full time. My fields are Borderlands History, History of Latin America, and World History. My research interests include environmental history, legal history, economics, and gender. I successfully defended my Ph.D. portfolio and dissertation prospectus in December, 2011. My dissertation, an environmental, legal, gender, labor and economic history, is titled Working on the Levees: The Civilian Conservation Corps, the Rio Grande Rectification Project, and the Making of the U.S./Mexico Border in the El Paso/Juárez Valley.
