Laura Mendoza
Lecturer, Languages and Linguistics

Laura E. Mendoza holds an MA in Applied Linguistics with TESOL concentration from The University of Texas at El Paso. She has been teaching ESOL and Spanish classes for native and non-native speakers for the same university since 2011 as part of the Languages and Linguistics Department. Fascinated by teaching, Ms. Mendoza helped for several months tutoring some after-school programs at The San Elizario District. Prior to her language teaching experiences, she worked as research assistant for the Psychology Department. In 2013, she was selected as recipient of the NBC Learning Project Grant: Integrating Technology into the Classroom. Currently, she also helps international college students with their academic writing and conversational skills at the local Community College. Laura serves as advisor for a campus organization, and she is constantly helping her students to connect with their campus life.
