Mark Engle
Lecturer, Geological Sciences

As a research geologist with the U.S. Geological Survey, Dr. Engle studies energy resources and their impacts on humans and the environment. Specific topics include: the geochemistry of produced waters from tight oil and shale gas reservoirs, impacts from release of produced waters to the surface, water resource demands for unconventional oil and gas development, atmospheric deposition and composition of particles around coal mining operations, and controls on deposition and speciation of atmospheric mercury.
