Pat Lara
Assistant Professor, Speech-Language Pathology

Dr. Patricia Lara's area of research includes auditory comprehension, aphasia and event related potentials. She and her graduate students compare cortical electrophysiologic and behavioral activity in individuals with aphasia and individuals with no brain damage responding to spoken messages. Other research includes examining the influence of complexity on spoken message comprehension, the effects of pauses in processing spoken messages.
In addition, Dr. Lara is also looking at voice outcomes in Transgender individuals following voice therapy treatment.
