Paras Mandal
Associate Professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering

Dr. Mandal is an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Director of Power and Renewable Energy Systems (PRES) Laboratory. His active research include electricity loads and prices forecasting; renewable electric power (wind & solar) forecasting and uncertainty quantification; renewable integration to grid; power system operations and optimization; application of computational intelligence in power system; multi-agent systems; and microgrid energy management systems. Technological interests include development of intelligent algorithms and application to power systems. Dr. Mandal is a Senior Member of IEEE. Currently, he is serving as a Secretary of IEEE Power & Energy Education Committee (PEEC) - Life Long Learning Subcommittee (LLLSC). He is also a member for Power System Operation Committee (PSOC) - Electricity Market Economics (EME) subcommittee; Power System Analysis, Computing, and Economics Committee (PSACE) - Intelligent Systems Subcommittee (ISS) working group on modern heuristic optimization.
