The objective of this project is to make a limited assessment of the effects of changes in ammonia emissions on secondary PM2.5 concentrations in the South Coast Air Basin (SoCAB). Ammonia reacts with nitric acid to form ammonium nitrate and with sulfuric acid to form ammonium bisulfate and ammonium sulfate — all of which are components of secondary PM2.5. In this project, simulations will be made with different levels of ammonia emissions.
