Using a multidisciplinary approach, my general objective is to examine how undocumented immigrant Latino workers to the U.S. have both historically and contemporarily been racialized and framed as “disposable” labor. My work addresses the continuing struggles faced by these workers as their experiences remain contextualized by the environmental, structural, and social disaster that followed in the various responses to Hurricane Katrina.
