A UTEP interdisciplinary team of faculty, in collaboration with local high-need public schools (El Paso Independent School District), is proposing to provide professional development to middle-school math and science teachers to strengthen the integration of math and science in their classrooms and to build problem-solving skills based on local issues. We will work with the teachers to increase their content knowledge in algebra and both earth and life sciences with specific targets in each area.
