UTEP and its UT System LSAMP partner, Midland College, will conduct in-situ research on the coral reef off Roatan, Honduras. A team of academic researchers from these partnering institutions will converge in Honduras with the primary goal of providing an international research experience in marine science to one UTEP and two Midland College students. The students will collect data enabling the marine environment of the corals to be assessed, and inform efforts to halt the decline of corals in the 21st century, an issue of much current attention.
