The UTEP Social Work Department will provide MSW student training for Region 10 employees and non-CPS employees who have been admitted to the UTEP Master of Social Work Program. In addition, a staff development program will be developed and offered to train DFPS line employees and supervisors in child welfare practice, investigations, foster parent training, leadership, case planning, case management, permanency planning, cultural competence with Hispanic, African American, Native American families and other regional cultural groups. Staff development will also cover child safety, trauma theory and practice, domestic violence, court preparation and testimony, and other topics, through a mutually agreed-upon a staff development plan.
