Dr. Waggoner's research explores the intersection of religion and gender in the U.S.-Mexico Borderlands, currently focusing on the Charismatic Catholic Renewal. He is interested in the role of ecstatic religious experiences in the construction of the family, ideas about the border, and the late modern order. In his role as Assistant Director for Professional Development in the UTEP Graduate School, he works to improve professional development and support services for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. He serves as contingent faculty in Religious Studies and Women's and Gender Studies.
