Justice T Walker
Assistant Professor, Teacher Education

Dr. Walker is a learning scientist that researches emerging technologies in biology and computer sciences and their use in K-12 education. He does this by developing, deploying and researching curriculum activities and their impact on student learning. Dr. Walker studies such outcomes as knowledge building, literacy, and engagement. His recent work focuses on how middle and high school students learn when they design and construct with biology. Dr. Walker studies this using synthetic biology, where cells—much like programmable units—can be genetically modified or designed to behave usefully.
