Dr. Cohn conducts basic and applied research addressing health related issues, including studies of risk perception, risk communication and injury control. Target issues include alcohol and drug use, risky driving, and vaccination decisions. Target populations include children, adolescents, and young adults. Dr. Cohn's lab is currently investigating how young people weigh both anecdotal and expert (statistical) evidence when evaluating the risks associated with vaccination, drug use, and dangerous driving (driving under the influence of alcohol and/or marijuana). 2) scoring Loevinger's Washington University Sentence Completion Test of maturity (ego development).
