Manuel Llano’s research is in biomedical sciences. Within this field, he has experience in Biotechnology and in Basic Sciences. In Biotechnology, his expertise is in the development of antibody-based diagnostic tools. In Basic Sciences, he has contributed to the knowledge of natural killer cell biology and the molecular virology of HIV-1, Flaviviruses, ans SARS-CoV-2. In the last 21 years, Dr. Llano’s research has focused on understanding the mechanism of viral replication. In particular, he has accumulated expertise in the discovery and characterization of cellular factors implicated in viral replication and antiviral drug discovery.
