Dr. Macchioni, Steinway Artist, is a passionate performer of Latin American music. He has performed in concert halls and professional conferences around the world receiving numerous international accolades. His research interests cover a vast area of piano literature from J. Brahms and K. Szymanowski to A. Ginastera and A. Piazzolla. More specifically, his expertise in academic tango has flourish into a book, articles and recordings. Dr. Macchioni has put special effort in connecting with the community. His endeavor about bringing classical music to the underserved population has resulted in a Community Concert Series sponsored by a grant from the City of El Paso. He believes that everybody, given the opportunity, is capable of enjoying and understanding classical music. His community concerts have proven to be a success targeting low-income schools, shelters, libraries, senior centers, and prisons. Dr. Macchioni is in high demand as an adjudicator, lecturer and masterclass presenter.
