Description
The Cyber-Security Community connects UTEP faculty and professional staff who have expertise and knowledge in cyber-security or in adjacent competencies. It enables faculty, staff and students to explore new ideas, solve challenging problems, identify new opportunities, and disseminate shared knowledge and resources. In addition, the community allows its members to exchange information by providing access to news, events, publications, and efforts in the area of cyber-security.

The UT System’s vision is to become a recognized academic leader for cyber education and research inspiring knowledge generation, technological innovation, and fostering economic growth that is competitive on a national and global scale.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology invites organizations to provide products and technical expertise to support and demonstrate security platforms for situational awareness for the energy sector. This notice is the initial step for the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) in collaborating with technology companies to address cybersecurity challenges identified under the Energy sector program. Participation in the use case is open to all interested organizations.
The Center for Information Assurance was formed on January 14, 2009. The mission of the center shall be to promote education and research in information assurance, computer security, and related fields at The University of Texas at El Paso. The Center has a portfolio of research projects in such areas as privacy-preserving databases and authentication and trust in distributed systems.
Develop solutions to problems in diverse areas by the application of communication technologies (Optical communications, optical sensors, wireless sensor networks, power smartgrid, robotics).

The Center for Infrastructure Protection and Homeland Security (CIP/HS) at George Mason School of Law publish this edition of The CIP Report: Energy. This report deals with many of the cyber-security issues of the Energy Sector.
The CIP Report is a monthly, electronic newsletter for professionals in industry, government, and academia who have an interest in critical infrastructure security and resilience. The newsletter provides the latest information about critical infrastructure including emerging legislation, government initiatives and leaders, and academic endeavors.
Recognizing that the national and economic security of the United States depends on the reliable functioning of critical infrastructure, the President issued Executive Order 13636, Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity, in February 2013. It directed NIST to work with stakeholders to develop a voluntary framework – based on existing standards, guidelines, and practices - for reducing cyber risks to critical infrastructure.
The Graduate Certificate in Cyber-Security is designed for students and practitioners who already hold a baccalaureate or graduate degree and are interested in further professional education in this field.
