This community connects UTEP faculty and professional staff who are involved in community engagement activities or research related to COVID-19.
The goal of this community is to connect and support interaction among members and related community stakeholders. The efforts of this community provide a snapshot of the various ways that UTEP is responding to COVID-19 in the community and beyond. Related Efforts
Volunteer students and faculty assist the hospital with mobile testing and office/charting support.
UTEP Contact: Robert Moss, Environmental Health and Safety
An agreement between UTEP and the City of El Paso enables qualified UTEP faculty from Clinical Laboratory Sciences and Biology to assist the city’s Department of Public Health in identifying cases of the novel coronavirus. Ten faculty are involved in this effort.

UTEP is working with Workforce Borderplex Solutions to provide MiFi to UTEP students.
UTEP is producing a 3-D printed ventilator alternative using design from TTUHSC Emergency Room Physicians.
The have completed a ventilator using Additive Manufacturing.

Our vision is for additive manufacturing (AM) technology to revive the economy through a transformation in the way products are designed and manufactured, taking advantage of distributed manufacturing and 3D multi-functional designs enabled by AM.
