Artificial intelligence has seen tremendous growth recently and is touching virtually all aspects of human society. The talk chronicles the history of AI and discusses how semiconductor industry plays the most critical role in enabling rapid growth of AI technology. Some noteworthy AI application examples will also be provided.

Jin Liu has over 20 years of experience in semiconductor industry. He has had various roles within Intel, from process development, new material research, quality management to data science management. He played a critical role in 90nm Cu CMP process development and led the technology transfer to the first 300mm HVM fab in the world. He led Intel CMP material development and ramp programs from 65nm to 10nm process nodes. Jin received his Master's and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Tech.
