Tomás Saraceno is an artist trained as an architect, and was MIT's inaugural artist in residence. He deploys theoretical frameworks and insights from engineering, physics, chemistry, aeronautics and materials science. His visit is the first artist research trip in preparation for Territory of the Imagination: At the Border of Art and Space, a regional conversation about art and space that provides interdisciplinary points of access to the topic of space, space travel, and related research.
