Kubicki is a Professor of Geochemistry who focuses on using quantum mechanics to understand chemical reactions. His work currently is on dissolution & fracture related to geothermal energy, high-level nuclear waste disposal, and rare earth element extraction. He is involved in community engagement with regard to bringing geothermal energy to El Paso. He also works to develop a mining and critical mineral workforce.
