Dr. Pinal completed her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy. She received postgraduate training at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy where she completed a pharmacy practice residency with a pediatric focus. Her research interests include pediatric medication safety, pediatric chronic disease states, antibiotic use/resistance in cystic fibrosis and pediatric patients, medication adherence/literacy, pediatric health disparities, and preventative strategies for optimization of health and medication use. Aside from pediatrics, Dr. Pinal's research interests extend into the implementation and impact of domestic and international pharmacy and healthcare education experiences. She currently serves as the faculty leader for a short-term, study abroad experience in Ireland and Northern Ireland. She is an active member of several pediatric pharmacy and global education organizations and enjoys the opportunities these organizations provide to establish connections with other scholars on a national and international level. |
