Dr. Kathirvelu received his medical degree from The Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, India. He did his MS and Ph.D. in Behavioral Neuroscience from Tulane University, New Orleans, LA. investigating interactions between the hippocampus and the striatum memory systems. In addition, he gained experience as a postdoctoral researcher at UCLA and in Central Michigan University (CMU) specializing in intracerebral hemorrhage, ischemic stroke and Neurodegenerative diseases in rodent models. He is passionate about teaching health sciences with special interests in anatomy and embryology and worked as an Instructor of Anatomy in the College of Medicine at CMU. |
