My expertise lies in the field of bilingual speech-language pathology, focusing on three key areas: improving accessibility to speech and hearing sciences for underrepresented minorities, enhancing cultural competence among future clinicians, and tackling the challenges of diagnosing and treating communication disorders in bilingual children. As Co-Primary Investigator of a National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Research Grant, I collaborate closely with healthcare institutions to advance healthcare equity through innovative approaches such as somatics and movement. I am also passionate about guiding students, domestically and abroad, fostering their growth and cultivating a global perspective through study away and study abroad programs.
