Dr. Mallonee is experienced as a clinical social worker and program administrator working with individuals with more serious mental health conditions, survivors of sexual abuse and assault, children and adults in crisis, adolescents and adults with substance use disorders, LGBTQ individuals, and Veterans. Since transitioning full-time to higher education in 2019, Dr. Mallonee has continued engaging in social work practice through community engagement, providing clinical supervision, program development and implementation, and evaluation. Dr. Mallonee's research is community-engaged and designed to solve real problems identified by communities and individuals. His areas of study and research include trauma-informed practice, mental health treatment and treatment disparities, help-seeking and treatment engagement, the therapeutic relationship, ​cyberbullying and violence, food security, and disability.
