Camila Torriani-Pasin
Associate Professor, Physical Therapy

Currently, she is an Associate Professor at the University of Texas El Paso in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. From 2010 until 2021 she had a position as a Professor at the School of Physical Education at the University of Sao Paulo - Brazil. She directed an interdisciplinary research program focused on understanding motor behavior, especially motor learning after neurological diseases, with an emphasis on stroke survivors.Her current research interests are in the neurorehabilitation outcomes at the systems/person level and promoting optimal recovery of goal-directed movement behaviors. Her aim is to investigate physical and psychosocial factors related to physical activity level and sedentary behavior, as well as to implement physical exercise programs (in person and via telerehabilitation) for stroke individuals.She has been supervising master's and Ph.D. students since 2014 at the University of Sao Paulo. Currently, she works as a supervisor in the Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Program – at the University of Texas El Paso.She has developed collaborative research over the last 10 years with different Universities in the country and around the world. She has (co)-authored more than 80 research papers.
