Christine Laney |

Christine Laney is an ecoinformaticist interested in making ecological and environmental data more accessible and actionable to diverse audiences. She received her B.S. in Biology from the University of Puget Sound. Her MS thesis in Biology from New Mexico State University focused on statistical methods to estimate relatedness between organisms. From 2005 to 2010, Christine was the coordinator of the Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) Network’s EcoTrends Project. In 2013, she received her PhD in Environmental Science and Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso. Her dissertation and subsequent postdoc research focused on ecological data sharing practices and on database and software design that may enhance connectivity between ecologists to support large-scale research while promoting research reproducibility. Christine is an avid R programmer and bicycle commuter.
