I3 Move Communities connect people with people, people with experts, and people with information. The intent is to provide a portal through which people can learn about others with similar interests, identify units and projects that contribute to an area of interest, and become knowledgeable about supporting resources. Although communities can form around any topic or theme, there are two types of communities that are being promoted: Effective-Practices Communities that develop and disseminate proven educational practices, processes, and procedures; and Research-Based Communities that manage resources and share ideas that can lead to advancements in research in a particular area.
