Interdisciplinary Workshop

Participants of this workshop will:
 Identify challenges of working in interdisciplinary teams including differences in vocabularies, methodologies, perspectives and expectations.
 Identify the learning process required for working in effective collaborative, interdisciplinary teams.
 Model different perspectives on a specific research topic using learning strategies to provoke the following skills: externalizing self-reasoning, exploring each other’s knowledge and encouraging questioning and analysis of information.
 Understand the advantages of representing knowledge as concept maps.

Workshop Presenters:
Dr. Villanueva Rosales is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and a Co-PI of the Cyber-ShARE Center of Excellence at UTEP.
Norma Rivera is pursuing the degree of Masters of Science in Computer Science at UTEP.
