Dr. Moody's research examines how organisms evolve over space and time, and he links this to biodiversity conservation, historical ecosystem change and plant invasion. Towards this end his research incorporates: traditional molecular methods, Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), phylogenetic analysis, bioinformatics, and field work.
