Description

This community connects UTEP faculty and professional staff who are involved in community engagement activities or research related to COVID-19.
The goal of this community is to connect and support interaction among members and related community stakeholders. The efforts of this community provide a snapshot of the various ways that UTEP is responding to COVID-19 in the community and beyond. An agreement between UTEP and the City of El Paso enables qualified UTEP faculty from Clinical Laboratory Sciences and Biology to assist the city’s Department of Public Health in identifying cases of the novel coronavirus. Ten faculty are involved in this effort.

The have completed a ventilator using Additive Manufacturing.

Our vision is for additive manufacturing (AM) technology to revive the economy through a transformation in the way products are designed and manufactured, taking advantage of distributed manufacturing and 3D multi-functional designs enabled by AM. Our mission is to lead the AM transformation through multi-disciplinary activities that include education, research, outreach, technology development and commercialization, and industrial partnerships.
