THE ALLSTATE FOUNDATION COLLEGE SERVICE GRANTS APPLICATION 2025 - 2026
PI: Jennifer Lujan
Sponsor: The Allstate Foundation
Center for Community Engagement
Amount awarded: $10,000

Expanding student civic engagement and volunteerism anchors this funded project led by the Center for Community Engagement (CCE). Support from The Allstate Foundation College Service Grant enables a year-long series of student-led service events that connect UTEP students with meaningful community engagement opportunities. Building on more than 15 years of large-scale service programming, the initiative expands from a single annual event to a quarterly series aligned with national service observances, including Make a Difference Day, the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, and a Summer Bridge Service Day for incoming students. Sustained programming strengthens civic responsibility, leadership development, and long-term community involvement while providing accessible pathways for participation. The partnership with the Center for Expanding Leadership and Opportunity (CELO) aligns with The Allstate Foundation’s youth empowerment strategy and reinforces the university’s role as a regional hub for student-driven service.
