Given the challenges of power plant inspections, this project will develop both rotary wing flying robots for outdoor inspections, due to their station-keeping and vertical take-off capabilities, and airships for indoor inspection to prevent high thrust from stirring up particulates, which can create diffusion and scattering in the vision sensors.
