The UTEP Social Work Department will assist the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) by operating a staff development and training program that supports the goals and objectives in the Child and Family Services state plan for Title IV-E training in Region 10. Through undergraduate and graduate education in social work, the program is designed to enhance the skills of current and prospective Child Protective Services workers and to provide opportunities for ongoing foster parent and staff training in child welfare practice, investigations, foster parent training, leadership, case planning, case management, permanency planning, child safety, and court preparation and testimony.
