A fully virtual, self-paced training program is being developed to prepare community health workers to address substance use disorders (SUD) within their communities. Existing training materials are being adapted into an accessible online format that incorporates interactive learning modules and flexible pacing. The program emphasizes evidence-based approaches to prevention, early intervention, and community support, enabling participants to build practical knowledge and skills regardless of location or schedule. By expanding access to high-quality SUD training, the effort aims to strengthen workforce capacity and support more effective community-level responses to substance use challenges.
