The so-called “green” monopropellants have the potential to replace highly toxic hydrazine in space propulsion systems. The project investigates combustion of monopropellants based on hydroxylammonium nitrate (HAN), and will lead to an improved understanding of processes occurring during combustion of these propellants over a wide pressure range.
