A SCSC seed grant will help us better understand factors affecting underrepresented minority (URM) student success and develop a plan for accessible, intentional, and effective recruitment and mentoring. This project expects to increase student confidence and agency in professional identity development and career decisions; to improve faculty mentoring approaches; to increase recruitment, retention, and graduation; to develop new policies that support excellent graduate training; and improve MSI pathways in graduate education.
