Electric utilities are now facing frequent power outages due to extreme weather events, such as winter storms, heatwaves, and hurricanes, which can disrupt the security, stability, and reliability of the power infrastructure. The number of severe storm events, as well as their intensity, has increased significantly in recent years, affecting the electrical power grid. These recent events have provided valuable lessons and the impetus to improve the resilience of the electric grid. This project aims to develop a resilience-oriented operation strategy for the electric power distribution system of interest. This involves developing resilience metrics, load modeling, and grid stability analysis. The project enhances the distribution grid's reliable operations, enabling it to respond to extreme events more robustly and reducing outages during such events.
