This project investigates an understudied linguistic phenomenon in second or foreign language (L2) speech perception and spoken word recognition, lexical stress and its interaction with intonational pitch accents with the goal of extending the cue-weighting theory of speech perception. It does so with listeners from five different native (i.e., first) language (L1) backgrounds: Dutch, English, Gyeongsang Korean, Seoul Korean, Mandarin, and Spanish, with English being the target language
