FELLOWSHIP: DEVELOPING A MORE ACCURATE SIZE AND COMPOSITION ESTIMATION OF ORBITAL DEBRIS FROM HYPERSPECTRAL UNMIXING - EVREN ATLI
PI: Miguel Velez-Reyes
Co-PI: Evren Atli
Sponsor: NATIONAL AERONAUTICS AND SPACE ADMINISTRATION
Electrical and Computer Engineering
Amount awarded: $165,000

This NASA fellowship focuses on developing a novel and adaptive model to use existing spectral libraries and mine the temporal, hyperspectral remote sensing data to extract quantitative information about non-imaging space objects, which will significantly improve the detection and estimation of the orbital debris size and composition.
