This Career Diversity Grant will contribute directly to UTEP’s mission of "access and excellence" for a Research University with a 21st century demographic by preparing diverse students for the professoriate and careers beyond the classroom. Since 1999, the History PhD Program has graduated 28 students, of which 60% are diverse students, and 29% are women with diverse backgrounds.
