This project will establish and implement an interdisciplinary stratified mentoring model to enhance recruitment, retention and training of Hispanic students in the Environmental Sciences program, and to better prepare the 21st century environmental scientists for job markets. We hypothesize that interdisciplinary stratified mentoring model is an effective instructional practice that can be readily adapted to serve other urban, minority serving institutions.
