This research proposes to adapt the fabrication technique of PBF AM technologies to enable the incorporation of sensors within the structure of an energy system component (using the Stop-and-Go process and achieve sensing capabilities in the final construct. The research will also focus on characterization of the micro-structure and the mechanical properties to determine reliability of such "smart part" in real life applications.
