Drs. Loughheed and Tweedie will study the Arctic lagoon ecosystems for variations in terrestrial inputs, local production, and exchange between lagoon and ocean waters over a variety of timeframes. These variations affect Arctic food web structures via carbon and nitrogen cycling, microbial and metazoan community composition, and trophic linkages. Sensors will be deployed for continuous measurements of key parameters.
