This proposal presents new and innovative areas of actinide science. Specifically, our group is exploring the synthetic, molecular chemistry of novel uranium compounds to better understand its chemical properties. While uranium and the actinides are technologically important elements, much remains unknown about their reactivity and potential applications in chemistry. This project will provide fundamental and valuable knowledge about the 5f-elements.
