The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) Department of Social Work will evaluate and develop a case study on the Pete Herrera Community Library of Familias Triunfadoras, Inc., in San Elizario, Texas. The project includes the creation of an institutional review protocol and the preparation of a project-focused publication with a literature review on community-driven and community health worker interventions. Work will document the history, evolution, and transformation of Familias Triunfadoras and the library, along with outcomes and lessons learned.
In partnership with the Executive Director of Familias Triunfadoras, the team will meet with community leaders and key library beneficiaries to present findings. A community forum will share results with decision-makers and funders. Deliverables include a project report, a case study, an infographic highlighting core impacts, and a short video telling the transformational story. The project also develops tools to support ongoing documentation and evaluation of community initiatives and trainings.
