This project will fill several knowledge gaps that exist about 1) what is understood about the movement ecology and habitat needs of Mexican ducks, and 2) the extent of hybridization between mallards and Mexican ducks and its possible consequences on the conservation of Mexican ducks. Efforts will be focused in the greater El Paso, Texas and southwestern New Mexico regions.
