This funding supplement will allow Mr. Kevin Uribe to conduct studies examining the role of ovarian hormones (estradiol and progesterone) in promoting the strong stress response elicited by nicotine withdrawal in female rats. Specifically, he will examine whether estradiol and progesterone promote anxiety-like behavior elicited by nicotine withdrawal.
