In the present project, Dr. Sun will probe the dynamic process of tuberculosis MtbESAT-6 pore formation and pore complex structures. Studies will fill the critical gap in understanding of the MtbESAT-6-dependent molecular events during tuberculosis infection in alveolar macrophages. Knowledge obtained from the project will facilitate development of novel therapeutics and vaccines against tuberculosis.
